Not really sure what is going on there, but apparently it improves the bit processing stream. The Classic version was used as a server to be used with a front end like JRiver. I watched a video, terrible one actually with a British guy where he pitches the product for 27 minutes and doesn't really show much of anything until the end. You do need some kind of front end interface. It seems that it's more of a back end server. Or does it actually manage your music, but you need an additional 3rd party app to display it?Īt $169.58 it seems it should do much more. It does come with something called MinimServer, but when I click on that, it's a program that opens in Windows Notepad that says to drag and drop files into it for playback? That's not too elegant in comparison to JRiver or Roon. I was expecting a music management endpoint like Roon or JRiver and from the website it says "A complete network software music player for the most demanding audiophile.", but instead it seems to be an add on of some sort that needs a 3rd party program that I haven't figured out how to take advantage of yet. I guess I was expecting something different. I have previously been using JRiver on my old PC, but stopped upgrading to newer versions a couple of years ago now and haven't installed it yet on my new HTPC, but was wondering what else is out there and stumbled upon JPLAY Femto and installed a trial version. I just finished building an HTPC and it's silent and running smooth with music and movie playback from a NAS as well as streaming Netfilx, etc. Hey all, was wondering who's using JPLAY Femto and what it does exactly.
